LeBron James Surprisingly Didn’t Pick Michael Jordan As His Favorite Player Growing Up

LeBron James revealed his favorite NBA player growing up and didn’t select Michael Jordan. Clearly, LeBron James isn’t just built different. This man was born different.

LeBron James has always shown his admiration for the players that came after him. The NBA has featured incredible talent over 75 years of history, and some of them have left a really big mark on the game and the competition. From George Mikan to Stephen Curry, we have seen players who changed the way the game is played and that took the NBA to reach new heights. LeBron James vs Michael Jordan 1 on 1 (Parody) - YouTube

James is one of those players, which is why is always interesting to know who inspired him to be who he is today and what impact other legends had on him. During a recent Q&A session with NBA TV, the 4x NBA champion revealed some of his favorite things in the world of sports and entertainment.

LeBron has stated time and time again that Michael Jordan was the player that inspired him, as he even named MJ in his top 3 players of all time alongside Larry Bird and Julius Erving.

Even though James hasn’t hidden his love and admiration for His Airness, it doesn’t seem like he was Bron’s favorite athlete in the world. During this Q&A, LeBron was asked about his favorite player of all time and didn’t even pick a basketball player, let alone Michael Jordan. Instead, he went to the MLB and mentioned ‘The Kid’, Ken Griffey Jr. 2024 Topps Celebration of the Kid #KID6 Ken Griffey Jr. - NM-MT - Card Shack | Beckett Marketplace

This is very surprising considering all the high praise Bron has had for Jordan over the years, but in this case, Griffey surpassed MJ. Perhaps the fact that he got to play with his father in MLB had something to do with LeBron’s selection, as he intends to do the same with both Bronny and Bryce James.

LeBron also talked about his favorite movies of all time, picking ‘The Godfather I and II,” his three favorite albums of all time, going with ‘It Was Written by Nas and ‘The Black Album’ by Jay Z.

So there you go, LeBron revealed some of his favorites and some could say he ‘snubbed’ Jordan, but Ken Griffey Jr. is considered one of, if not the best baseball player of all time by many, so this decision makes all the sense in the world.
