Ed had nothing but praise for the “Cruel Summer” singer after meeting her for the first time at the Oct. 12 Kansas City Chiefs game.
Talking to People on Monday, the father of two described Swift, 33, as “a very, very sweet, very charming, down-to-earth young woman.”
He also noted that Swift’s intelligence “comes through right away.”
“She’s very smart. I mean, very,” he added.
Ed, who is also dad to Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, then recalled the “very special” moment he realized Swift was a “very genuine” person rather than a “diva.”
“We’re sitting in the suite, she gets up and in the front room, she gets up to go get a drink or something and she starts picking up empty bottles, cans, plates that are scattered around,” he explained. “Because in the suites, everybody gets stuff and you empty it down wherever you can.”
He continued, “And I’m just thinking, I don’t think she got the diva memo. She didn’t get the spoiled musician. She doesn’t know how to pull that off. And that really to me said a whole lot.”
Although Swift has been spotted with Travis’ mom, Donna, on numerous occasions, the 12-time Grammy winner was seen chatting with Ed for the first time during the Chiefs game against the Denver Broncos earlier this month.
While Ed didn’t reveal what the pair were talking about, the singer surely left a good impression as fans noticed that the Kelce patriarch followed a Taylor Swift fan account on Instagram a few days later.
Travis, 34, and Jason, 35, also talked about Swift’s introduction to Ed on their “New Heights” podcast that same week.
During the episode, the tight end said he felt “terrible” for his girlfriend after learning she got stuck in a conversation with his father.
“You know Dad, like, I know Dad,” Travis mused to his brother. “This is a terrifying conversation. I felt terrible for Taylor for being [subjected to that].”
“He shouldn’t be talking to Taylor Swift,” Jason added with a laugh.
Despite poking fun at his dad, Travis made sure to note that Ed is “the best f–king dad in the world.”
“He is a great converser. It’s where Jason gets his storytelling and all of his charisma. We’re saying this just because we like to rag on the big guy,” the two-time Super Bowl champion explained.
As for what the pair could’ve been talking about, Travis revealed that Ed recently checked out all of Swift’s CDs from the “local library” and “started listening to her music a little more.”
“You can see in this picture all he’s doing is just pumping her up,” Travis joked.
Although Ed wasn’t in the crowd on Sunday to support his youngest son, Swift was seemingly cheering loud enough for the both of them.
The “All Too Well” singer, who rocked a Chiefs sweatshirt and black pleated skirt, hung out with Patrick Mahomes’ family all night — including the quarterback’s wife, Brittany Mahomes, whom Swift has gotten quite close to.
Following the big win, Swift and Travis left Arrowhead Stadium together hand-in-hand before joining some of his teammates and their respective partners for a post-game party.
During the soirée — which apparently took place at the NFL star’s mansion — Swift was pictured giving her beau a sweet kiss on the cheek while posing with friends.
In the adorable snap, the 6′ 5″ football player leaned down so that Swift could reach his cheek as she stood with her hand on his chest.
