Taylor Swift Supports Louisiana Food Bank After New Orleans Concerts

NO.erastour.102524.38.jpg | | theadvocate.comOver the weekend, Taylor Swift gave a magical performance to thousands of fans at the Caesars Superdome. And on Tuesday, a New Orleans area nonprofit organization shared that the singer gave more to the city than just a roaring concert.

Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans and Acadiana shared on Facebook that the international popstar made a donation to the organization, giving enough money to fund 75,000 meals for South Louisiana families in need.

“The kind generosity reminds us that making a difference is possible, together, with people who truly care,” Second Harvest said in its post. https://www.instagram.com/p/DBt6dris5Bv/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==

The food bank did not disclose the exact amount Swift donated.

Second Harvest provides food access, advocacy, education and disaster response to support its more than 700 community partners and programs. Annually, the organization distributes nearly 32 million meals to more than 210,000 people in Louisiana.

In its social media post, Second Harvest encouraged its supporters to join Swift in her generosity. The organization offers opportunities to donate financially or volunteer at one of its community partners in New Orleans, Marrero, Westwego and beyond.

As one of the world’s wealthiest pop stars, Swift still maintains a reputation for making charitable donations. She has donated books to libraries, held charitable-giving concerts and paid off at least one of her fan’s student loans, among other acts of kindness throughout her 18-year career.

With her most recent and extended tour, Swift has continued her charitable giving by donating to food banks serving the communities where she performs.

Most recently, before her Eras Tour stop in Miami, she donated $5 million to Feeding America to support relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene and Milton.

Swifties in New Orleans have also recently been inspired by the star to raise money to feed people in need.

Two young local fans created a video to help fundraise for hurricane relief efforts after Swift donated to Feeding America ahead of the singer’s stint in New Orleans. The girls exceeded their goal of $1,313 and raised $1,670.
