Niecy Nash-Betts was not here for Travis Kelce’s mustache.
Nash Betts, 54, shared her true thoughts on the mustache Kelce, 35, donned during the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Los Angeles Chargers game on September 29, during a Wednesday, October 30, episode of his “New Heights” podcast.
“We all came to see Travis. We go to the game out here in L.A. and he was just trying to act like he was so professional as a football player,” Nash Betts recalled. “He’s like, ‘I don’t know if we’re gonna take pictures and stuff because I’m so focused,’” she sarcastically said.
Nash Betts continued, joking, “Then he came out there with that stupid mustache.” Both Travis and cohost Jason Kelce burst out laughing as the actress giggled.
“I’m just giving you a hard time,” she continued. “I totally respect your process. You gotta stay in the zone. I was more offended at the mustache.”
As the trio laughed, Kelce pointed out that his mustache was “gone now,” and instead was rocking a beard. His bangs are also more grown out now while the sides of his head remain buzzed.
“I see! You’re finally back to looking decent!” Nash Betts quipped back.
While Nash Betts wasn’t a fan of Travis’ stache, he told People earlier this month that he thought the facial hair helped “bring success” to the Chiefs. “There’s always magic to the stache,” he said. “I grow out the stache every training camp — or at least, I have the past three or four years since we’ve been making these title runs in honor of coach Andy Reid.”
Nash Betts also reminisced on watching the Chiefs vs. Chargers game with Travis and Jason’s mom, Donna Kelce. “We all took pictures together,” she gushed. “We went over to [the ‘New Heights’ podcast] suite with her and got some swag. We had great seats. It was a really great time. I would do it again for sure.”
