Blackpink’s Rosé gave a rare glimpse into her encounter with Taylor Swift. The singer spoke to i-D magazine about the mentorship the celeb offered when Rosé saw her last September at Electric Lady Studios in New York City while she had been working on solo music.
“I told her I’m such a huge fan, and I just had some questions,” the K-pop artist said of running into Tay. “As soon as she met me, she’s like ‘Spill, let me help you out.’ She gave me her experiences and was so ready to help me. She gave me her number and she’s like, ‘Let me know if you have any questions.’ Who does that? Like, you’re Taylor Swift!”
“I’m really grateful for her because I was at a moment where I was drowning a little,” Rosé noted. “She is literally the coolest, and she’s such a girl’s girl. She was telling me—make sure to take care of this, this, and this—like, logistics. She was trying to protect me. Me becoming solo, being independent, it’s not an easy thing. There are a lot of things I should be careful with, and she gave me a rundown on all the things I have to look out for. That was the coolest part—she’s killed it in the game, and she was kind enough to walk me through.”
The musician added that she is currently in the throes of figuring out life and what she wants to do. “At the end of the day, I’m just a 27-year-old girlie who’s living through the last chapters of her 20s, and it’s still not easy,” Rosé shared. “I guess we have three more years to find out if life gets better, or if it’s gonna be like this forever. I feel like we’re still young and dumb!”
