Taylor Swift Set to Honor Liam Payne with a Special Tribute on Eras Tour Following His Passing

Though there is more information sure to come in the following days, tributes to the late singer have sprung up all over the internet. Though she has yet to break her silence, Swift is reportedly distraught over the sudden loss. Their friendship goes back over a decade, as she famously dated Payne’s One Direction bandmate Harry Styles in 2012.

According to the source, “[Swift] is really sad about this because she came up with those boys and she had a lot of love for Liam.” The two seemed to have always had a good relationship, and despite Payne’s recent troubles, the source added that Swift said Payne “was always good to her.”

It is unclear exactly how Swift plans on honoring Payne or if she will put out a statement about his death before the tour kicks off again, but this devastating loss is sure to have an effect on both Swift and her fans. More information is sure to come.

Payne was in Argentina to attend a concert of friend and former One Direction bandmate Niall Horan. The manner of Payne’s death is currently being investigated, but preliminary reports reveal that he suffered a skull fracture as a result of the fall. There has been speculation that the singer may have jumped to his death and preliminary reports of drugs being found in his hotel room.
